HAIKU, MARCH 25, 2008 … DaFactory Glass Studio celebrates its 1st Anniversary on Saturday, April 5th with an exciting evening of glassblowing, a fashion show, DaFactory All-Star Band musical entertainment, all part of the anniversary festivities at the “First Saturday Art Walk” at the historic Pauwela Cannery in Haiku. DaFactory is based in principal on Andy Warhol’s infamous Factory of New York City in the late sixties. DaFactory blends the ultimate Hawaiian vibe with the excitement of an art party. DaFactory is constantly buzzing with an art influenced energy. There are lots of artworkers creating incredible works of mixed media art. The industrial setting of the studio lends itself to the ability to create large scale works in all mediums. The focus of the studio is glass. The shop has been built with state of the art technology and buries normal parameters that glass artists are traditionally challenged by. Because these boarders are not an issue, the bar will be raised in terms of quality and scale of glass art on the Hawaiian Islands.

Master and Craftsman

An ongoing show at the Gallery / Studio DaFactory will be showing work by Jason Harris, master glass craftsman from Haiku Hawaii.

DaFactory offers a wide Variety of Glass Tiles – Recycled glass tiles - Hand Sculpted glass tiles – custom made glass tiles – we also offer standard sizes of illuminated glass tubing and spheres filled with plasma. These tubes can be used in a wide variety of applications –Plasma tubes are similar to plasma globes except the glass is in the shape of a tube, which can be formed into almost any shape, simple or creative. The ionized gas undulates like the Northern Lights, and can be manufactured to change rapidly in an energetic movement, or slowly in a soothing ribbon of light DaFactory is also offering illuminated glass block - DaFactory is offering distinctive displays and art works from a variety of artists that beautifully complement home and business interiors, nightclubs, museums and theatrical settings.
